Nationwide House Clearance were appointed to carry out the clearance of a verminous and cluttered 1 bedroom bedsit in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. The property, although small, was full from waist height to almost ceiling height at times.

The small bedsit contained several hundred bottles and cans of urine, decaying food waste and human poo. The only items of furniture in the living room/bedroom consisted of a double bed and soiled mattress, a display unit and a fabric clothes storage container.

In the kitchen there was a cooker and a fridge. Everything else was food waste, bottles and cans of urine, poo, clothing and magazines and other clutter.

Because a lot of the bottles of urine were open, our 4 members of staff who carried out the clearance, were equipped with the right protective clothing and equipment.

It took the men 5 hours to clear in total using 3 full van loads. Nothing was salvageable for recycling as every aspect of the property from the clutter to the walls were contaminated with bacteria from the decaying food waste as well as spillage from the urine and the poo.

This was a particularly smelly and dirty job which tested the men’s stomachs, but as ever, regardless of how dirty, smelly, cluttered or verminous the property is we always get the job done – on time and for the price originally quoted.
