Nationwide were appointed to carry out a house clearance of a 2 bedroom terraced town house in Birmingham, West Midlands. We also had to carry out a one-off deep clean of the property which had been left in a bad state of disrepair with the owner sadly passing away in the house and being left dead unattended for 7 days.

We sent 4 of our most experienced staff to carry out the unattended death and it took the men 6 hours to clear and clean the property. The men removed the usual type of items associated with a property such as white goods, a sofa, an armchair, a sideboard and upstairs a double bed, a wardrobe and set of drawers and various other items.

The property was in a bad state of disrepair with mould and fungus growing on the walls and ceilings and there had also clearly been a leak at some point in the past. There was lots of dust and general grime too. The men also removed carpets and other clutter form the property.

After removing all of the junk the men cleaned the property to the best of their ability given how dirty, grimy and dilapidated it was. They cleaned all internal windows, the bathroom, outhouse type building, kitchen and scrubbed floors clean.

The bedroom where the body had sadly lay dead undiscovered was given a very thorough one-off deep clean to eliminate the smell of death which existed throughout the 2 bedroom town house dwelling.

In total 35% of the contents were recycled namely white goods for their metal content, wooden items such as the wardrobe and pots and pans again for their metal content. Sadly with properties like this not a lot can be salvaged due to contamination.
