Nationwide were appointed to carry out a trauma clean of a 1 bedroom ground floor flat in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tynside following an unattended death in the property which was the result of a suicide. The body had sadly lay there for 4 days.

We were given instructions to clean the entire flat and not just the room in which the body sadly lay unattended, so we sent 3 of our highly trained and experienced cleaning technicians to carry out the clean up.

The body lay unattended for 4 days following a suicide which had occurred in the bedroom of the property. We tackled that room first, removing the effected mattress, bed and carpet and then disposing of the soiled items. We also used dehumidifiers throughout the flat to help eliminate the smell.

After that we then santised everywhere, including all woodwork, window-frame and sills, internal window glass, skirting, doors and other fixtures and fittings. We did this throughout the entire flat.

The personal belongings had already been removed from the property by the relative of the deceased which left only the appliances and furniture.

We cleaned all appliances which consisted of a washing machine, an electric cooker, a dish washer, a fridge freezer and a microwave.

We also cleaned the carpets and steam cleaned the sofa and arm-chairs. It took the 3 cleaners 6 hours to carry out the clean in total.
