Nationwide were appointed to clear and carry out a declutter service and one off deep property clean of a 1 bedroom small bungalow in Leicester, Leicestershire. The job was carried out on behalf of Adult Social Care Leicestershire County Council for a client of their’s who through illness and old age had accumulated a lot of clutter and dirt in the property over the years, making it almost uninhabitable.

Working with Adult Social Care and their client we helped to first clear out all of the junk and rubbish and then we worked together to declutter the property of any items that were of no use or of no purpose. We managed to dispose of over 60 bags of rubbish in total, with one van load taken away. 25% of the waste was recycled, mainly textiles, paper and wood.

After clearing and decluttering the property we then set about deep-cleaning it. The bathroom and kitchen were particularly filthy. The walls and woodwork were also heavily stained with nicotine, all of which needed wiped down. All appliances such as the cooker, washer, fridge freezer and other misc appliances such as the kettle, toaster etc. needed cleaned too. We also cleaned the dishes, and other kitchen utensils that were of use still. All flooring and windows were cleaned too.

We also rearranged the furniture and helped make the property more space friendly so that the client could walk around freely without any danger of tripping or getting stuck. In total 5 members of staff (2 to dispose of the items, and 3 to clean) took the best part of a day to carry out the work.
