We were appointed by Cleartrack Ltd on behalf of the Environment Agency to clear a large garden and various garden sheds and outhouse buildings of scrap metal, broken old motorbikes, over 100 rubber car tires and wheels, various chemicals such as engine oil, petrol and diesel and overgrown garden waste.

The property, which was based in Catterick, North Yorkshire, had been used as a scrap-yard for over 10 years and not only had it become an environmental hazard, it had also become a mecca for scrap metal thieves.

We were tasked with removing and disposing all of the scrap metal, hazardous waste and garden rubbish and where possible, via the sale of the scrap, to recover costs for the Environment Agency. In total we recovered almost £1000 in costs for the Environment Agency.

Due to the presence of the owner of the property and the hazardous nature of the waste, we liaised with the Local Council, the Environment Agency, the Police and Cleartrack Ltd at all times to complete the job to everyone’s satisfaction. Several old bombs were discovered in and around the waste which the Armed Forces and Police took care of.

A team of 8 Nationwide House Clearance men using two large vans cleared the scrap and waste in one full day, removing over 8 tonnes in total and recycling 80% of the waste.
