Nationwide were appointed to clear the contents of a 2 bedroom terraced property in St Andrews, Fife. The contents of the property had been placed into the back yard by a so-called house clearance firm who the customer had hired to clear the property prior to our appointment.

This firm, however, decided once they had loaded their van that they would charge the customer even more than they had quoted him, claiming the fridge and mattresses would cost them extra to dispose of. Not surprisingly, the unhappy customer commanded them to return the contents which they refused, placing the items into the back yard instead.

This left the customer with a dilema, as the property had been sold, contracts had been exchanged and the new owners were moving in at the end of the week. That’s where we come in. We were contacted to clean up the mess of this so-called bogus company and do what they had quoted to do, remove a van load of furniture.

The items had to be accessed through a small arch and by the time we had arrived, several days of rain had fallen so a lot of the items were water damaged.

It took our 3 fully uniformed men under 30 minutes to load the van. Once we were finished we sent the customer before and after photos, an invoice and a waste transfer note. 50% of the items were recycled, namely the wood, plastic and metals from the house-hold junk.
