Our House Clearance Charity Donations

Nationwide House clearance Charity Donations

Nationwide House clearance donate over 50% of all house-hold house clearance items to various charity organisations. From furniture to clothing, to bric-a-brac and bedding.

We have carefully chosen our own favoured charities in which we prefer to donate to. These are The British Heart Foundation, Barnardo’s Children’s Charity, Cancer Research UK, NSPCC, The Royal British Legion and the RSPCA. We donate the vast majority of house clearance items to these particular charities.

Please Note: We are not a charity, we are a profit making business. We do not work for any charity or pick up items to take to charity shops on their behalf or for the general public. We simply try and donate any reusable or recyclable items to charity from all of our house clearances.

Why These Charities

British Heart Foundation & Cancer Research UK

Firstly, unfortunately almost everyone connected to Nationwide House Clearance from the management down to the drivers have family and friends who have in one way or another been affected by heart disease and cancer. Secondly, we all have children or nieces and nephews and thirdly we are all proud of of our brave men and women who serve our country. Lastly, we are all animal lovers here at Nationwide.

Above all else, however, these 6 charities are all great causes and worthy of not only our support, but all of our support.

Other Charities We support

Although we favour the above mentioned charities we don’t have a closed policy with regards to who we do and do not donate to. We have and will continue to donate to other charities. For example we donate bedding and sheets to animal and homeless shelters on a regular basis.

We Can Donate Anything To Your Own Personal Charity Of choice

If there are any items from the house clearance that you want us to keep to one side and donate to your own personal charity of choice, we can do this at no extra cost.

Our Charity Donation Policy

We only donate reusable & recyclable items

When we undertake any house clearance, the first priority is of course to get the property cleared for the customer. However, our second priority is recycling. We will use our experience and judgement and assess what we feel a charity shop will take or not take from any house clearance.

Items we donate to charity

  • Unmarked beds, sofas and other soft furnishings that comply with fire regulations
  • Bedding and sheeting that is in good and clean condition
  • White goods and other electrical items that are in good working order and are clean
  • General house-hold furniture that is in good and solid order
  • Bric-a-brac that isn’t dirty or damaged
  • Clothing, shoes and soft toys that are clean and in good condition

When clearing a property our experienced and trained house clearance men will set aside any items of this nature that exists in the property for later donations to charity. By doing so we not only save on disposal costs which allows us to pass on savings to our customers, we are also helping the environment by minimizing what goes to landfill. Furthermore, our customers feel good knowing they are helping the environment and good causes.

Charities we use

We donate items to reputable, fully registered UK charities only. Charities that benefit the people of England, Scotland and Wales.
