We were appointed by an elderly gentleman to carry out a declutter and clean of a 2 bedroom deceased estate in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyneside. The property was also very dirty and quite verminous.

The property was a two bedroom terraced first floor flat with only four rooms needing decluttered as the two bedrooms were both uncluttered, unlike the rest of the flat. We sent 4 of our experienced and uniformed men to carry out the total decluttering of the living room, kitchen, passage and bathroom.

When the men arrived at the property access was so bad as every room was full from floor to ceiling. As a result for the first day the men formed a chain, chipping away at the clutter box by box, bit by bit.

The customer specifically requested that every item be brought out onto the front garden so he could go through everything as important documents were among the clutter. Furthermore, the customer’s father whose house it was, was an animal lover with several cats and the customer wanted us to donate lots of the salvageable items to his favoured charity, the RSPCA.

Day one and we made a huge dent in the living room, discovering verminous waste in the form of human feces, urine, and animal feces. Day two we discovered even more in the kitchen and bathroom, with the kitchen being particularly gruesome in terms of smell and decay.

It took our men two full days to declutter and partially clean the property. The kitchen and bathroom were so bad, we recommended a total rip out and a new kitchen and bathroom to be installed.

4 full van loads with almost 4 tonnes of clutter were removed from the property with 50% of the items recycled, most of which was donated to the RSPCA who we called and arranged to come out and collect the items. Over £1,000 pounds was raised as a result.

The customer was very happy to see the RSPCA benefiting and the title deeds to the property were also found, among lots of other important documents.
