Nationwide were appointed by Bristol Social Services to carry out a declutter and clean of a 3 bedroom semi-detached property in Bristol, South West England. We also had to carry out a thorough one-off deep clean.

The home belonged to a family of three, a father and his two young children, a girl of 11 and a boy of 15. The family had sadly lost their mother to cancer and the father was of ill health which resulted in the property becoming quite cluttered and dirty.

The property consisted of 3 bedrooms, a double living room and a bathroom and kitchen. Each room was particularly cluttered and dirty, especially the bathroom and kitchen. Our 4 experienced, fully uniformed and very discreet men set about decluttering the property first, working close with the family to determine what was junk and what was needed.

After the declutter the men set about cleaning the property which involved the cleaning of all wood-work, doors, light switches, window frames, appliances, internal windows, carpets and flooring with the bathroom and kitchen also steam cleaned.

It took the men 7 full hours to declutter and clean the property in full, using one van load and recycling 90% of the clutter removed which was mainly clothing, pots and pans, wooden furniture, electrical items, cardboard and other assorted junk.

Because this declutter and clean was for a family of 3 affected by bereavement and ill-health everyone at Nationwide House Clearance gave their all to do the best job possible, and without doubt this ranks as the most rewarding job we have ever carried out.

The family were left in tears – as we all were – once we were finished and the father literally called us “life savers, and heroes”. We are not, of course, but we pride ourselves on doing a great job at all times and we love to help people. We are a company that cares!
