Nationwide were appointed to clear 120 student rooms in St. Margarets Court, Durham, on behalf of Gentoo & Durham University. The rooms were being renovated fully and we had to work around joiners, electricians, plumbers and other property development teams. As a result we could only be on site twice per week, over a 3 week course.

Each room contained a single wardrobe, a metal framed bed and mattress, a set of drawers, a desk and chair, a waste paper bin and general waste left over from the students who had been occupying the rooms. We also had to clear 8 kitchen/dining area rooms. Each kitchen contained an electric cooker, a fridge freezer, a fridge, two 3 seater sofas, tables and chairs and other misc junk. We also had to remove the cupboards, sinks and kitchen top units.

We sent 6 men and 2 vans on each day and managed to remove every item on time, recycling a massive 100% of all the waste. Two hostels took the wardrobes, desks, chairs and drawers. The better mattresses were donated to used furniture outlets. The sofas were donated to a charity shop and the broken down wood, sinks and metal bed frames were all recycled.
